Official Appointments, July 2018

Well, it’s official. The one wrinkle that I’d not seen before is that even though the appointments are effective July 1, the “first weekend of pastoral responsibilities will be July 7-8, 2018”.

The other interesting thing is the note that a pastoral coordinator is “under the supervision of a priest moderator”. I’m not sure how that works. Is the parish priest also the priest moderator? Based on the definition provided for a parish priest, “to provide priestly ministry in a particular parish in collaboration with the pastor or pastoral coordinator”, it would seem not. But who knows?

I’m sure we’ll get some clarity on these points as the transition proceeds.
