About the “Camino Photo of the Day” Project
Series 1: 2016
Once I’d gotten all of my Camino photos up on my Flickr page, I began to search for ways to internalize and come to grips with our 2016 Camino. Beginning on 06 July 2016, I began posting a photo a day with brief explanations and occasional maps. I tried not to post the boring ones (though your opinion may vary).
It often took several weeks to get through a single day of the Camino.
The project was suspended from September 30 through November 26, 2018 for our Galician Camino pilgrimage and adventure. There were also a couple of missed days in February of 2019 due to an automobile accident.
The 2016 series ended on 11 April 2019 and contains more than nine hundred photos.
Series 2: 2013
On 24 July 2019, the Vigil of Saint James, I began a second series, based on our 2013 Camino. Partway through, I switched to posting five days a week rather than seven, so it took slightly longer to get through.
The project was suspended on May 2, 2022 as we prepared to depart for the Camino Primitivo and resumed upon our return.
The final photo of this series was posted on July 31, 2023, and this series as well contains more than nine hundred photos.
Series 3: 2023
On 27 December 2023, the Feast of Saint John the Apostle and Evangelist, I began the third series, covering the Long Camino from Le Puy-en-Velay, France, to Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
