Camino Photo of the Day: a Rainy Night in Castrojeriz
A rare composite photo that sums up our evening in Castrojeriz. On the left is our albergue, the wonderfully comfortable and brand-spanking-new Albergue Rosalia. The proprietors are young and enthusiastic, and the entire place was built into several older connected buildings and designed with homey comfort in mind. They preserved the old exposed wooden beams and quirkily uneven walls and floors, but all of the furnishings and appointments are new. I recommend this place without reservation. Speaking of no reservations, we had dinner in a local place “El Meson” just down the block from the albergue. It was crowded. Although we’ve seen a clear increase in the number of pilgrims over the last days, only a handful ate here while we were there.
Date: 14 April 2016
Place: Castrojeriz (Castilla y León, Spain)
And we were serenaded as the proprietor was part of a band. It was lovely.
Yes, yes it was. A very homey albergue with great hospitaleros.
