Camino Photo of the Day: the First Goat Path
My beautiful bride Francine refers to these sorts of rocky, treacherous downhill bits as “goat paths” on the theory that they were clearly designed for the use of goats and not people. Going down into Zubiri, we come to the first of these – a Roman Road Goat path. It’s actually not dangerous (except when it’s raining), but it does slow you down quite a bit, because you have to watch where you carefully place every step. At some point you run out of Roman Road and into what seems to be a field of boulders. More on that in later posts.
Date: 02 April 2013
Place: Somewhere past Erro, beginning the long descent into Zubiri (Navarra, Spain)
MAP! Here’s the route I’m walking today (Roncesvalles to Zubiri).
