Saint Joseph

On Thursday the first of October, Rev. Michael Stinson, FSSP celebrated the first Mass in the Extraordinary Form held at Saint Joseph in roughly 45 years. He offered a votive Mass of Christ the High Priest. There were between 50-75 people at the Mass.

In other news:

Victoria Solenberger has been appointed the Choir Director of Holy Rosary, in addition to her continuing duties at Visitation.

Holy Rosary will be celebrating the parish’s patronal Solemnity (Our Lady of the Rosary) on the weekend of the 10th and 11th of October. (Although the feast is actually on the calendar for Wednesday, a church may translate their patronal Solemnity to the preceding or following Sunday.)

Vespers of the Solemnity will be celebrated in the Office chapel on Wednesday as usual.

In honour of Saint Francis of Assisi, following Mass on the 10th, Holy Rosary will hold a Blessing of the Animals. Everyone is invited to bring their animals, as Holy Rosary Catholic Church Pastor Very Rev. Nicholas Wichert will offer a special blessing for each animal and the family who brings the pet. In past years, some unusual animals have been blessed, including horses and cows.

Please be sure to have some method of keeping your animal(s) under control. Leash those dogs! And please: no animals allowed at Mass.

It may be worth also mentioning that there were approx 200 in attendance at the 10:30am Mass at St. Joseph. Thanks for all the great transition updates. They have been much appreciated.
