Praying Vespers for the Feast

Wednesday, October 7 is the Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary. For those of us who were once parishioners of Holy Rosary parish in Tacoma, it was our patronal feast.

In years past, we could celebrate this on a Sunday – today, in fact.

Altar servers for our patronal feast of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary parish (Tacoma, WA) in 2019. We have not worn the red cassocks since shortly after the Benedictines left in 1998.
We brought them out especially for the feast.

I thought it would be nice to mark the feast in some way on Wednesday, in addition to praying a daily rosary. So I’ve attached an English version of the old monastic vespers for the day.

Please download and print and pray this evening prayer on Wednesday! Whether you sing it with your family or recite it quietly alone – or some other variation – I encourage you to pray for the former parishioners of our parish, that they may find peace and healing in these terrible times.
