The Pieces are Starting to Fall Together
Our credencials arrived from Santiago a couple of weeks ago. I’m starting to compile updated albergue and Mass information. I’m checking airline tickets every Tuesday.
I’m still trying to find all of the bits and bobs to complete my gear. In some cases, I know that what I’m looking for is “around here somewhere”, but I’ll be darned if I can figure out where. It’s mostly the small stuff.
And then this evening, I loaded my pack in anticipation of a training hike tomorrow morning. It’s too heavy, of course. With water, it comes in at 19 pounds. I want to get that down to 16, and I think I can do it without too much trouble.
Though the heaviest single thing in my pack is my sleeping bag, there isn’t much I can do about that. The main culprit, as always, is overpacking clothes.
I’ve got 232 days to work it out.
