24 Hours
In less than a day, my flight will be taking off. I’ve gone through various stages of nervousness, elation, and even fear in the past few days.
More than once I’ve asked myself, “what, are you crazy, Thom?”
Add to that the emotions that inevitably come with Holy Week – the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, Stations of the Cross, Good Friday – and you’ve got a real recipe for a roller-coaster.
Oddly, yesterday`s fast went a long way toward calming my jangled nerves. I’m feeling perfectly serene as I prepare for the Easter Vigil.
At least until tomorrow!
Wishing you a great journey on the “Jacobsweg” – Love Mom
Good luck Thom. Have a great time!
Thom, my friend. I am so very excited for you! I think back now to my own journey to CA as I prepared for it and received that e-mail from you telling me you want to speak with me about of all things…Jesus Christ our Lord. I knew then that it was an appointment I could not miss. Much like your Baptism 8 years ago. And now your journey. It’s an appointment, a chance to be in the Lord’s presence in a new way. You will not be the same man I say good journey to. I am excited, a little worried but mostly proud of you for so many things. May the Good Lord be with you and show you things anew!
Yes, Thom, you’re crazy. And that is precisely why you must do this!
Via con Dios, peregrino.
