A Week’s Worth of Photos
My post-Camino reintegration proceeds slowly.
Today, I got the first seven days of my Camino posted to Flickr and tagged. Day 8 is loaded as well, but I haven’t tagged the photos yet.
Enjoy!
More to come as I am able.

Thom,
Fantastic pictures ! Did you take then with an IPhone ?
Are you going to “Tag” the photos.. They are an amazing collection of shots! Will you be “Tagging” them ?
Also, I ‘ve ready that he Camino gets rather buggie later in the summer. Did you experience that ??
Did you find that you took Too much “stuff” in your pack ?? If so, what would be the proper gear to take with you for the doing the whole French path?
Any advise would be great.

Hi Cam, sorry for my late reply.
Yes! I took all the photos on an iPhone 4. I’m in the process of tagging the photos, but it’s proving difficult to work through them. It’s like I’m reliving the Camino while I’m going through the photos!
I would not go in the summer if you can possibly help it. Even on our Camino, there were days where it was too hot to walk after 2pm.
As for the gear question – if I go again, I’m only going to pack: clothes, poncho, crocs, sleeping bag, toiletries, towel, laundry supplies, tiny first aid kit, rosary, breviary, map.
If you like, I can break that out a bit more for you, but the main thing is this: you need much less than you think you do. I packed light, and after Leon I mailed home about half of what I was carrying.
Thom,
Great to hear form you! I thought that you may have decided to lay down for a rather long nap after your stroll !
How are your feet doing these days? Have you gotten back into the rhythm of a normal day to day living yet?
I bet having your OWN Bathroom, shower, and bed is like heaven! When I return from the ME – it was strange to live like a human again..although spoiled by what I had been “used’ to.
If you get a chance to post a list of the gear you finally found necessary, that would be great!
Have you seen the youtube video produced by an Aussie about his one-man Camino documentary ? Search for “overlander”. He did the same route you did, alone and he does a great job discussing his relationship with GOD and the pain of the Camino.
It’s quite good and made me think of your adventure.
Thanks again for the note, and maybe the possible list of gear !

Thom,
I was rather selfish of me not to ask how Francine made out with the Camino. Early o, she mentioned that her legs were causing discomfort. Hopefully that didn’t last for the remainder of the walk.. that would stink.
My father-in-law, a rather adventurous sort in his own right, is excited that I’m giving this Camino some hard consideration. He is thinking that doing the whole route is tooo much and that doing the stretch starting at Leon, should be enough pain to endure to collect the Certificate. My thought is still is to do the whole route, with the wife meeting me in Leon.
How did that itinerary work out for you two ??
Did you wind up staying a “B&B”s for the remainder of the Camino from Leon to the end?
I hope Francine had as a great an experience as you did !
