Camino Photo of the Day: Asunción
This is the little Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción – church of our Lady of the Assumption – in Rabanal del Camino. It is the home of the Benedictine Monasterio de San Salvador del Monte Irago of happy memory. This little church is directly across the street (more of a footpath, really) from Refugio Gaucelmo. There’s so much to unpack about this – the Assumption was vital to our entry into the Church, it’s a (German!) Benedictine community and Francine and I are Benedictine Oblates, and it goes on. Let’s just say it’s the perfect spiritual Camino storm. And we visited exactly three years to the day after the first time.
