Camino Photo of the Day: Christ on Palm Sunday, plus a bonus!
The last day of Sahagún Week! Eamon and I ducked into a tiny church near to the ruins, perhaps even part of the original monastery complex. This was just a few weeks after Easter, so many of the statues that are paraded through the streets during Holy Week were still in the aisles of the church. There was even a rack of vestments just hanging out (bonus photo below). This particular statue caught my eye – a life-sized image of Christ riding triumphantly into Jerusalem. I imagine on Palm Sunday, it is carried in a great parade through the streets of the town.

Bonus: that rack of vestments.
