Camino Photo of the Day: Dawn on the Aubrac
There’s just something Hobbity about this photo that I love. I mean, the road wouldn’t be asphalt in the Shire, but other than that, it’s perfect. It was indeed a pretty perfect morning, even if Alex and I were constantly climbing for the first part of the morning, as you might be able to tell from this photo, which shows the path we had come.

Date: 23 August 2023
Place: between Nasbinals and Aubrac, Lozère Département, Region of Occitanie, France
Maps!
If you’re the sort who looks at the maps, you’ll note that the stage shown is 32+km long. I split this up into two days, since I wanted to spend some time exploring both Saint-Chély-d’Aubrac and Saint-Côme-d’Olt, both of which are on the list of most beautiful villages in France.
