Camino Photo of the Day: Elevenses in Saint-Jean
After exploring the town a bit and purchasing our staves and Opinel at the aptly named Boutique du Pelerin, we sought some sustenance. We wandered a bit before talking with a lovely woman at the tourism office. We asked her to recommend a local place, and we weren’t disappointed.
Date: 29 March 2016
Place: Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (France)
Café Ttipia is on Place Floquet – essentially, the High Street. It’s a Basque place, and while there were few tourists or pilgrims here, a constant stream of locals popped in while we were there. We even saw the owner of Boutique du Pelerin at one point. We came for elvenses, but stayed for lunch.
We also began the task of getting our brains in order and journaling our Camino.
