Camino Photo of the Day: Grinning Lions and Grim Cherubs

Yes, it’s another coat of arms on a building in Azofra – but this time with comically grinning lions and some seriously intense-looking cherubs as supporters. This is one of two examples on this building – there’s a blurry photo of the building below as a bonus! A nearby sign identifies this as Real Casona de Las Amas. Built in the 17th century as the home of a high-ranking aristocratic family, it is now a tourist hotel. We are going to stay here the next time we’re in Azofra!

Date: 09 April 2016
Place: Azofra (La Rioja, Spain)

Bonus: blurry photo of Francine in front of the building.

Maps! Here’s our route out of Azofra, destination: unknown!

The more I look at it, the more I laugh.

Those are some seriously goofy-looking lions.

And what’s with the mustachioed face at the bottom with the glasses?
