Camino Photo of the Day: Love in the Ruins
One last photo of San Antón. This is one of my favourite Camino photos. In fact, it’s the header for my other blog. Even as I took the photo, I remember thinking of the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove, descending upon Christ at His baptism. Or of the dove that perched on Saint Gregory the Great when he was writing his homilies. When I see this photo, I sometimes think about the persistence of the Church amid the ruin of her churches: the physical manifestations, even monasteries and cathedrals, may pass away, but the spiritual reality endures until the end of time.
