Camino Photo of the Day: Lunch and Loss
Here we see random pilgrims having their lunch in the village of Calzadilla de la Cueza. The café is on the edge of the village and faces the open Meseta. For no good reason that I can now recall, I took my fleece off my pack and put it over the end of the chair on which I was sitting. In the pocket was the chicken I’d purchased back in Santo Domingo. I never saw either one again. While Eamon and some other members of our Camino family finished eating, I went through the village taking photos. When I returned, I put on my pack, and we started walking. I left my fleece behind and didn’t realize for several kilometers, by which point I wasn’t going to walk back and get it.
When I returned in 2016, I checked the lost and found. Of course, it wasn’t there after all that time. I miss that chicken.
