Camino Photo of the Day: Meeting Penny

We met Penny that first walking morning. She’s from Idaho, and she had apparently cut her long hair short the day before she flew to France. She was walking without a pack. She said that she had way too much stuff in it, and it was too heavy for her to carry. So instead, she had it sent ahead to Roncesvalles by one of the several companies that provide this service.

This would prove important later in the day.

We would walk with Penny for quite a while on our Camino, and even after we drifted apart, we would still meet up with her from time to time. We last saw her in Santiago.
