Camino Photo of the Day: My First Gîte

I arrived at my first gîte about a half-hour before it actually opened. I spent the time in conversation with a French pilgrim named Dominique. She was originally from Paris but had retired to Brittany. She spends her summers walking the various trails throughout France. She and I would cross paths frequently over the next couple of weeks. After check-in and a shower, I decided to explore the town. I took this photo of the gîte as I left at about 4:30pm, and as you can see, another group of pilgrims had just arrived.

This gîte is L’Abri du Jacquet, and I highly recommend it. Olivier was a fantastic host, and I would absolutely stay here again.
