Camino Photo of the Day: Sahagún Train Station

The train station is just a few blocks from our albergue. This photo is here because the time had come to make a painful decision. We’ve been beset by injuries, rain, and the results of epic rain – mud and flood. Several times, two-day stretches of the Camino have taken us three days. Since we had time constraints – the return flight day wasn’t going to be changing – we simply had to make up for lost days and adjust for our reduced pace.

Therefore, tomorrow morning first thing, we would take the train to León. It would skip us a couple of days forward into the Camino and then give us basically a full day to explore the city of León. I wasn’t really very happy about this, but there was simply nothing to be done. We would leave behind our friends and traveling companions, but we hoped we might see them again in Santiago at the end.

Spoiler alert: we did not.
