Camino Photo of the Day: Steps worn with Pilgrims’ Feet
A few days ago, when I was discussing the Apostle’s tomb, I talked about the worn steps. For more than a thousand years, pilgrims from all over the world have come here. Here’s what that looks like.

I remember seeing steps like those in a lot of the older places in Europe. The steps to the chapter house at Wells Cathedral are particularly memorable for this.
The smoothed and worn marble almost seems like liquid. I’ve seen similar steps in a couple of places on the Camino and in Rome, but these I found particularly affecting.
