Camino Photo of the Day: Stone Cattle Grate
I don’t know if this is the original design of the modern metal cattle grate. It certainly is a clever use of the available material. As I walked through these early morning meadows, I passed over a handful of these. Most, like this one, doubled as bridges over the myriad of little streams in this landscape. I saw no cattle this morning, nor had I as yet spotted a pilgrim since leaving Sauvage. I could, however, hear both in the distance.
