Camino Photo of the Day: Tattoo
May you have a happy feast of Saint James! For today’s photo of the day, I thought we’d do something special. Many years ago, I posted here about the Camino tattoo that I planned to get someday. Well, “someday” happened this year in Santiago. Thanks to Callie actually scheduling for us, all three of us got some ink to commemorate this amazing experience. I designed mine to mimic the sign in Navarette that struck me so deeply. It’s no coincidence that at the start of our Camino Primitivo this year, I saw a similar image in Boston. I’ve posted a bonus photo of that sign as well.
The actual tattoo looks a little rough here, as the photo was taken immediately after inking. I did modify the cross so that it looks a little more like the traditional cross of Saint James.
An extraordinary potent beauty.
Thank you.
