Camino Photo of the Day: Villovieco

We arrived in Villovieco at about 1:30 pm and were greeted by this two-dimensional pilgrim. The Camino proceeds along the lovely Río Ucieza. It’s a beautiful walk through partially wooded countryside. The village may date to the medieval period – certainly the parish church is 16th century – but many of the houses we passed had a distinctly 20th century suburban feel.
