Camino Photo of the Day: When the Rain Comes
It rained on that second day. It rained on a lot of the other days as well. It pretty much rained on us for a month. I love this photo because that solid stone slab of a bridge reminds me of the rock that is Christ, which carries us over all obstacles – even if the rain does fall on the just and the unjust alike!
During the long wet slog, we got very familiar with the strengths and limitations of our ponchos, our shoes, and each other. Some days it was miserable, and some days we just laughed at the absurdity of it all.
Date: 31 March 2016
Place: Between Burguete and Espinal (Navarra, Spain)
We both have these amazing Ferrino ponchos, which we nicknamed our “strawberry troll outfits” for obvious reasons. I absolutely recommend them, though they are lined and if you’re not careful they can run a trifle warm.
We were well prepared by the PNW for rain… maybe not rushing rivers in our path.
And it was Day 2
