French sheep say “beh”
We are in France!
After yesterday’s mad dash through Barajas and Atocha to catch our train to Pampona we met our hosts Isvan and Barbara who drove us to their albuergue near Roncesvalles. After rousing dinner conversation and a delicious meal I fell into bed and slept the sleep of the righteous. Ok, I just passed out with the aid of four glasses of vino tinto.
This morning there was breakfast and an early ride to St Jean Pied de Port. I’m sitting in the pilgrim office with my new super poles using their wifi and waiting for Beilari to open.
We walked around town and up to the citadel where I was regaled with architectural history by my geeky medievalist husband.
Then some coffee.
At noon we had a huge lunch which kicked in my siesta DNA but Beilari isn’t open until 2:30 so I had more coffee.
