We’re Not Dead!
We’ve been without wifi for several days now, so I thought I’d post a quick note in lieu of full updates to follow later.
We’re currently having breakfast in a bar in Samos, across the street from the stupendous monastery where we spent the night. The bar has wifi (obviously), but we need to get on our way.
Chant Mass last night in the monastery. Today we should lunch in Sarria.
Eamon caught up and walked with us yesterday.
WOW !! We were starting to think that you walked off the edge of the Earth !!
How are the legs holding up?? and the boots?
Form your pictures, it appears to be cold and damp in the early AM. over there. How has the weather been treating you since getting off the ridge line ??
Have you jettisoned non-essential gear by now or have recommendations ? I’m sizing up a list of gear for possibly doing the Camino in the early Fall.
Keep those Cards and Letters coming Buckaroo!
Buen Camino

Have you met any Chaucerian characters also on pilgrimage? “When in April the sweet showers fall…”
Oh yes. Right now I have three book ideas fermenting, and some of the characters we’ve met – good and bad – figure prominently.
It’s so hard to find reliable wifi.
I’m exhausted but feeling accomplished. I think I will need to have some prescribed inserts when I get back. I was obstinate. I’m fine, though.
I went with bare minimum of one pair of pants (convertible) and one sport skirt with attached shorts. Those two plus leggings have worked out well. My long sleeve shirt is for evenings after showers. Basically, I have two ( ish) outfits. One for walking has two short sleeved shirts. When we get in every night I take my shower and put on my after walk outfit. The underwear are for sleeping in and for the next day. It is a good system for me because then I need only wash my walking clothes either in the evening every night or wait for a day. I brought four pair of walking socks and I probably could have done with three.
One problem I’m finding is that after my shower I’m cold. Even if the shower was hot, I’m so very cold. Wine helps.
